Sustainable tourism in the Třeboň Region from the perspective of local actors

Tourism is a source of livelihood all over the world. Tt is no different in Třeboňsko either. However, the development of tourism cannot continue at the same pace as before. It is necessary to realize the limits of the territories on which tourism happpens and start not only thinking, but also behaving more sustainably although it may not be easy at the beginning. Tourism doesn´t affects only the economy of the area but also the local people and nature. Overall, it brings economic, social, environmental and also cultural impacts to the area in which it happens. The area of Třeboňsko is known for its preserved nature in the Třeboňsko PLA. It is mainly thanks to this nature that it is the destination of many tourists every year, who have a choice of many forms of sustainable tourism here. This work deals with the tourism sector, sustainability and sustainable development of tourism. Furthermore, sustainable forms of tourism offered by Třeboň Region are listed here . The thesis analyzes the opinion and approach of residents to the development of tourism in Třeboňsko, but also of other local actors, namely the city of Třeboň, the PLA Třeboňsko, the Třeboňsko Microregion and the Třeboňsko MAS. The main goal of the work is to evaluate the cooperation between these actors and the perception of the sustainability of tourism by the local residents of the Třeboň region. Based on the evaluation of the questionnaire survey, the processing of information from the strategic documents of local actors and the study of the literature, measures are proposed in the work that will support the development of tourism in the Třeboň region in a sustainable form.
Development of tourism in term of sustainability a case study of Tanvaldsko

The main goal of this work is to assess the sustainable development of tourism on the example of Tanvaldsko. This includes two sub-objectives. The first is an analysis of the development of capacities and attendance of collective accommodation establishments over the last 15 years. Data from the Czech Statistical Office are used for this. It was found that there was a decrease in accommodation capacity. Attendance developed more dynamically, yet overall there was also a noticeable decline, except for the years 2017 to 2019, which were the most successful in terms of number of tourists. The second part deals with the records of implemented projects to support tourism and their assessment in terms of sustainability based on established criteria. Most of the information comes from tanvaldsko.info. These projects are mainly focused on the promotion of the Tanvald region or the development of cycling tourism. Overall, they are undoubtedly beneficial to some extent, however, the absence of their retrospective evaluation and assessment of the impact of tourism on the 3 pillars of sustainable tourism development can endanger long term sustainability here and in other destinations as well. Vplyv ekologických ocenení na výber ubytovania v hoteloch

This bachelor thesis is concerned with environmental awards of hotels and their impact on the customer’s choice of hotels. The theoretical part describes specific terms connected with the hospitality industry, ecohotels, green management and various ecological awards. They enable better understanding of the practical part of the thesis. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the impact of the awareness of diverse environmental awards on the customer's choice of hotels. A survey addressing this problematique whose results are analysed at the end of the practical part was used in order to evaluate the results properly. The survey analysis indicates the postitive attitude of respondents to environ-mental procedures, which are used in hotels. However, the knowledge of ecological awards is not a key factor which could influence the demand of accomodation.
The Role of Residents in a Tourism Destination

The bachelor thesis investigates the influence of tourism on residents of a particular tourist destination. It examines the impacts of tourism on their everyday life, positive and negative aspects of tourism as well as requirements and needs related to sustainable tourism development. It is focused on the degree of irritation of residents in connection with the intensity of tourism in the area. The practical part of the paper compares two destinantions in the Region of South Bohemia the metropolis of České Budějovice and Český Krumlov, belonging to the World Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO. The current situation in both cities is analyzed through a questionnaire survey among residents and then compared. Residents proposal for the improvement of their attitude towards tourism are used as well as one possible measure of author itself. The conclusion contains a recommendation for sustainable tourism development in the cities.
Sustainable development of tourism in the protected landscape area Iron Mountains

The thesis deals with the issue of sustainable tourism development in protected landscape area of the Iron Mountains. The main objective is to evaluate the current status and potential of the region on issues of sustainable tourism development, sustainable forms of tourism and evaluate conservation in the PLA Iron Mountain. The theoretical part is devoted to sustainable development, sustainable development of tourism and the area of the Iron Mountains. The practical part is to map the nature and landscape protection in the PLA Iron Mountain with regard to small-scale protected areas and analyze friendly forms of tourism. Followed by evaluation of the awareness of sustainable development of the territory by questionnaire from the perspective of local public administration in tourism, residents PLA and business owners. Last theoretical part is the SWOT analysis and recommendations for the future.
Ecotourism in Balikpapan Bay

Tourism in tropical areas represents the fastest-growing branch of tertiary sector. The Balikpapan Bay (Eastern Kalimantan, Indonesia) is partly covered by mangroves and remains of primeval tropical forest that are extraordinary for their unique biodiversity. To avoid over-exploitation of described destination, detailed analysis of the evolving tourism and implementation of its sustainable form - ecotourism is necessary. The submitted project builds on one of the latest topics of longitudinal research running by Stanislav Lhota, PhD. in this area. Supervisor of this thesis, Radek Trnka, PhD. also joined the research in its beginning in 2005. Description and evaluation of current condition of ecotourism in Balikpapan Bay area is the main goal of the diploma thesis. Therefore, activities of organizations acting on natural tourism field, and which are connected with ecotourism, were analyzed in depth. The semi-annual field research was done in the area of Balikpapan Bay, while a combination of several qualitative techniques, especially participant and non- participant observation and semi-structured interviews as well as document analysis marginally, was used for data collection. Sustainable tourism development of Vysocina Region

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of sustainable tourism development at the regional level. This phenomenon is elaborated on the example of Vysocina Region. To evaluate sustainability of its development, the potential of this touristic destination is researched regarding various areas, including key products. These are subjected to comparisons with recommendations of significant tourism organization for the purpose of assessing the sustainability of tourism. The diploma thesis also includes a comparison with other Czech regions experience as a touristic destination. Vysocina Region has favourable initial conditions for its sustainable development, especially regarding supply of key products, which include both environmentally friendly goods and cultural attractiveness contributing to the personal development of individuals and promoting intercultural tolerance. The main issue appears to be the spatial imbalance of its development in the region, caused mainly by the concentration of tourist activities to certain areas and low local initiative in the less attractive areas. The diploma thesis proposes a number of solutions, such as utilization of geocaching and products of gastroturism, supporting the foundation of local destination management organisations, promoting cycling tourism and the foundation of highly visited tourist destinations.
Assessing the Potential of Krkonoše´s Resorts for Sustainable Tourism Development

The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the potential for sustainable tourism development of the Krkonoše Mountains resorts and to compare the assessed region with the region of Orlice River and its surrounding area; with a special regard to the economic aspects of the issue. Theoretical framework of the thesis emphasizes the economic importance of tourism and its impact on the environment. Subsequently, the concept of sustainable development is described and the notions of potential for tourism and the potential for sustainable tourism development are discussed. The theoretical part further summarizes the negative effects of tourism in the Krkonoše Mountains and the selected aspects of Czech environmental and preservation legislation. The methodical bases specify the methodology of assessment and determine the criteria for its measurement. The practical part of the thesis applies the methodology to the territory of the Krkonoše Mountains resorts. Consequently, there is a comparison of the Giant Mountain resorts with Orlice River and its surrounding area. Summary of the thesis contains the answers to the research questions and verifies the hypotheses focused on the economic aspects of the issue. Finally, the proposals and recommendations for destination management and other interest groups are set out.
Sustainable tourism development and environmental friendly tourism in the PLA Křivoklátsko

The work concerned with the sustainable development of tourism and its friendly forms. The issue is applied to the example of the protected area Křivoklátsko. The aim of Diploma Thesis is to evaluate the current status and potential of sustainable tourism development, including mapping the availability of sustainable forms of tourism within the protected area Křivoklátsko and outline prospects, potential and opportunities for further development. The theoretical part defines the concept of sustainable development, definition, indicators and principles on which it is based issues in general as well as in relation to tourism. In the practical part the region as a tourism destination: the attractiveness of the area, živostní environment, material and technical base, sound forms of tourism and development potential. Part of the work is the analysis of the potential for sustainable tourism development of the protected landscape area Křivoklátsko made on the basis of survey among entrepreneurs in tourism, tourists, residents and county public administration bodies. The overall assessment of the status and potential of sustainable tourism development in the region is used and SWOT analysis.
Sustainable tourism development in the chosen destination - Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko

This thesis is concerned with the sustainable tourism development in the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko. The aim is to evaluate current state of sustainable tourism in this area and outline the perspectives of its further development. The theoretical part is dedicated to the definition of the concept of sustainable development and its application to the tourism in protected areas. The beggining of the practical part describes the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko. The practical part is also concerned with the organization of tourism and an analysis of offer of environmentally friendly forms of tourism. The thesis is completed with an overall evaluation based on the SWOT analysis, chosen indicators of sustainable tourism development and a questionnaire survey among tourists, residents, entrepreneurs in the tourism industry and municipalities in the region of the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko.
